Akashi Red Whisky 50cl
AED 99.00 Original price was: AED 99.00.AED 79.00Current price is: AED 79.00.
Japanese single malt that’s all about easy, everyday sipping, think honeyed grain, gentle oak, and a little dried fruit warmth. Great neat, even better with a cube of ice, and a smart next step if your usual is lighter Scotch like Glenfiddich 12 but you want a Japanese whisky twist!

Want a Japanese whisky that doesn’t feel like homework? This is the kind of single malt you can pour on a random weeknight, take one sip, and immediately get why people chase Japanese whisky.
Akashi Red leans into drinkability, but it’s not boring. It’s got that classic malt backbone (the cereal, honey, and toasted oak thing) with a subtle fruit-and-spice lift that keeps you coming back for another sniff and another sip.
Tasting notes
- Nose: Honeyed malt, light vanilla, toasted oak, a hint of dried fruit.
- Taste: Soft cereal sweetness up front, then gentle spice (think cinnamon), with a clean, slightly nutty oak note.
- Finish: Medium length, warming, with lingering malt sweetness and a quiet oak echo.
How we’d drink it: Neat if you like lighter whiskies, with one cube if you want it rounder and sweeter, or in a simple Highball when you want something dangerously crushable.
If your comfort zone is approachable single malts, this is a fun detour into Japanese single malt without jumping straight into peat, smoke, or heavy sherry richness. It’s also a great bottle for converting “I don’t really like whisky” friends, because it stays friendly even when they take a bigger sip than planned.
Because it’s a single malt, you’re tasting whisky made from malted barley at one distillery, which usually means a more focused house style and a clearer flavour through-line in the glass. Translation, it tastes like one idea, not a committee.
It also plays nicely in cocktails where whisky can disappear. Try it in an Old Fashioned with orange peel and keep the sugar light, you’ll still taste the malt and oak instead of just sweetness.
Fun Fact: “Akashi” is the name of the city in Hyogo, Japan, and the brand is one of the most widely seen Japanese whisky labels outside the country.
