AED 210.00
Indian single malt that’s made to surprise you, in the best way. This is the bottle you grab when you want to break your own “I only drink Scotch” rule, and still feel 100% at home in the glass. Amrut is an Indian single malt whisky with big flavour, proper structure, and a personality that doesn’t disappear the second you add ice.
If you’ve ever found some single malts a bit too polite, this is the fix. It leans into flavour, fruit, and spice, the stuff you actually notice, without turning into a sugar bomb. It’s also a great gateway bottle if you’re curious about world whisky and want something confidently different, not weird-for-the-sake-of-weird.
- Nose: Ripe mango and banana, honeyed malt, vanilla, and a gentle toasted oak note.
- Taste: Malty sweetness up front, then baked spice (think cinnamon and clove), citrus peel, and a nutty, toasty edge.
- Finish: Warming and lingering, with oak spice and a last flicker of tropical fruit.
How to drink it: start neat to catch the fruit and spice, then add a few drops of water to open it up, it gets brighter and more fragrant. It also holds its own in an Old Fashioned when you want the whisky to actually taste like whisky, not just “brown spirit vaguely present.”
Why this one works for both newbies and nerds is balance. You get an easy-to-follow flavour story (fruit, malt, spice, oak), but it’s layered enough that your second pour tastes like you paid more attention. That’s the sweet spot for a home bar: interesting on a quiet weeknight, impressive when friends come over.
And yes, it’s Indian whisky, but not in a “buy it for the novelty” way. This is a real single malt, built for sipping, built for revisiting, and built to make your usual rotation feel a little less predictable.
Fun Fact: Amrut is widely credited with helping put Indian single malt on the global whisky map, the kind of bottle that made a lot of longtime Scotch drinkers do a double-take.
