Description

Big, comforting flavour without the learning curve, this 7-year-old Armenian brandy is the kind of bottle you pull out when you want something warming, a little sweet-leaning, and properly satisfying.

If you’ve only had “generic brandy” before, age is the upgrade that actually matters. Seven years gives the spirit time to pick up deeper caramelized fruit notes and more of that toasty, oaky richness that makes brandy worth sipping (not just mixing and forgetting).

  • Nose: Baked apple, raisin, vanilla, and a gentle oak toast vibe
  • Taste: Dried apricot and caramel, warming spice (think cinnamon), with a rounded, brandy-sweet richness
  • Finish: Lingering fruitcake and light wood spice that hangs around for the next sip

How to drink it: Start neat if you’re curious, add one ice cube if you like it softer, or try it in a Brandy Old Fashioned (brandy, sugar, bitters, orange peel) for an instant after-dinner flex.

Why the 7-year age matters: More time resting means more flavour pulled from the wood and more mellow integration, so it tastes layered and cosy instead of sharp and one-note. That’s the difference between “a quick pour” and “wait, pour me a bit more of that.”

Where it fits in your bar: This is a smart entry point if you like cognac-style vibes but want something a little different, or if your usual is whisky and you’re looking for a fruitier, dessert-leaning sipper for slower nights.

It also does a solid job in cocktails where brandy needs to show up, not disappear. Think Sidecar if you want citrus and snap, or a simple brandy and ginger ale when you want easy mode.

Fun Fact: Armenia has been making grape brandy for well over a century, and it’s one of the country’s most famous pours, right up there with its obsession-level hospitality.
