Laphroaig Lore 70cl
AED 495.00
Smoke, sea spray, and campfire ash in a glass, this is Islay single malt turned all the way up. Laphroaig Lore takes that famous peaty punch and adds extra layers of dark toffee and spice, so it’s not just loud, it’s deep. Big peat. Bigger personality. This Islay single malt is for anyone who wants their Scotch to taste like a coastal bonfire, not a polite handshake.
Laphroaig Lore leans into what makes Islay whisky legendary, that smoky, salty, medicinal edge, then builds it out with richer, darker flavours that keep you coming back for another sniff. If you love smoky drams but want more depth than “just peat,” this is the upgrade.
- Nose: Sea air, iodine and smoked wood, followed by sweet toffee and a little dark spice.
- Taste: Bold peat smoke up front, then layers of caramelized sugar, roasted nuts, and a peppery kick that keeps it lively.
- Finish: Long and smoky, with salty-mineral notes and a lingering warmth like dying embers.
Where it’s from matters here. Islay sits off Scotland’s west coast, and that maritime air shows up in the glass. You get that salty, coastal character that Speyside drinkers don’t always expect, plus the kind of smoke that makes this category feel like its own universe.
How to drink it: start neat, then add a few drops of water to pull out more sweetness and spice. It also makes a seriously intense Old Fashioned if you like your cocktails smoky and unapologetic.
If your comfort zone is something like Talisker 10 or Lagavulin 16, this is a fun pivot, still smoky, but with a more medicinal, seaside Laphroaig signature and extra layered richness.
Not sure if you’re “a peat person”? This is a confident way to find out. It’s powerful, but it’s not one-note, and that complexity is exactly why it’s a bottle people love talking about.
Fun Fact: Laphroaig’s name comes from Gaelic and is often translated as “the beautiful hollow by the broad bay,” which is basically the most poetic way possible to describe a whisky that tastes like the ocean picked a fight with a bonfire.
