Description

Bright, celebratory bubbles without the Champagne fuss, this South African Brut is the bottle you grab when you want the table to feel instantly more fun.

Boschendal Grande Cuvée Brut is a dry sparkling wine (Brut style), meaning it lands crisp and refreshing, not syrupy. It’s built for easy wins, pour it cold, clink glasses, and suddenly your “quick catch-up” turns into a whole night.

  • Appearance: Pale straw with lively, fine bubbles.
  • Nose: Green apple and citrus up front, with a toasty, bread-crust note that makes it smell like you’ve got snacks on the way.
  • Palate: Dry and crisp, with bright lemony acidity, orchard fruit, and a little creamy toastiness that keeps it feeling polished.
  • Body: Light to medium, super refreshing and easy to keep pouring.
  • Finish: Clean and zippy, with citrus and gentle brioche lingering just long enough to make you go back for another sip.

Food pairing (do this and thank us later): oysters or shrimp, sushi, salty chips and dip, or a roast chicken with lemon and herbs.

If Prosecco is your usual, this is a sharper, drier step up with more of that toasty “proper bubbles” character, still super approachable, just a bit more grown-up.

It’s also a sneaky-good bottle for hosting because Brut sparkling wine is basically a universal translator, it works as an aperitif, it doesn’t bully food, and it makes everyone feel like the night has officially started.

Pour it straight, or use it to top up a simple sparkling cocktail with a splash of peach nectar or a twist of orange peel.

Fun Fact: Boschendal is one of the Cape’s historic wine farms, with roots going back to the 1600s, so you’re drinking a little piece of South African wine history in every glass.
