Durbanville Hills Rhinofields Chardonnay 75cl
AED 72.00
Creamy, citrusy Chardonnay that makes weeknight chicken feel like a plan. Durbanville Hills’ Rhinofields comes from South Africa’s coastal Durbanville ward, so you get ripe stone fruit, a little lemon zest lift, and that satisfying, lightly oaked comfort. If you like California Chardonnay but want something fresher and less heavy, this is a very smart detour.

Richer than your “just pour it” white, but still bright enough to keep you going back for another sip. This South African Chardonnay from the Durbanville ward leans into that classic Chardonnay comfort, then cleans it up with coastal freshness.
If you’ve ever wanted a white wine that can handle creamy food without turning into a butter bomb, this is the move. It’s the kind of bottle that makes roast chicken, pasta, and Tuesday nights taste more intentional.
- Appearance: Pale gold and clear, the kind of colour that hints at a bit of warmth and weight.
- Nose: Ripe yellow apple and peach up front, then a squeeze of lemon and a gentle vanilla-like softness.
- Palate: Stone fruit and orchard fruit with a creamy texture, lifted by bright citrus so it doesn’t feel flat.
- Body: Medium-bodied, comforting without getting heavy.
- Finish: Clean, lightly oaked aftertaste with lingering fruit and a fresh snap at the end.
Food pairing: Go straight for creamy chicken pasta, roast chicken with lemon and herbs, or grilled corn and halloumi.
This is also a great “next step” Chardonnay. If you usually buy big, oaky Aussie or Cali styles, Durbanville’s cooler coastal influence gives you similar satisfaction with more zip and less fatigue.
Pour it slightly chilled, not ice-cold, and you’ll get the full story, the fruit, the creamy texture, and the citrus lift all show up.
Bring it to a braai when you know someone’s grilling chicken, prawns, or corn. Reds get all the attention, but this is the white that actually keeps up.
Fun Fact: Durbanville is one of South Africa’s coolest coastal wine areas, and that ocean breeze is a big reason the Chardonnay stays fresh instead of flabby.
