Laphroaig 30 Year Old 70cl
AED 3,499.00
Big, brooding Islay single malt energy, but with 30 years of patience baked in. You still get that Laphroaig coastal peat, think bonfire smoke, sea spray, and medicinal iodine, but it’s layered with dried fruit, old oak, and a whisper of dark toffee. Made in Scotland on Islay, this is the kind of whisky you pour when you want the room to go quiet for a second.
This is Laphroaig turned all the way up, then left to evolve for three full decades. If you love Islay whisky for the peat, this shows what happens when that signature smoke gets time to calm down and stack up layers, without losing its attitude.
- Nose: Coastal peat smoke, seaweed and salt air, classic Laphroaig medicinal notes, then dried apricot, leather, and deep oak.
- Taste: Full-bodied and oily, bonfire embers, iodine and black pepper, followed by stewed fruit, dark honey, and toasted wood spice.
- Finish: Long and warming, lingering smoke and brine, with echoes of cocoa, old oak, and gentle sweetness.
What makes it special is the tension. You’re getting that famously bold Islay character, but age brings patience, rounding the edges and pulling out richer flavours that younger peat monsters just can’t fake. It’s a single malt that keeps changing in the glass, smoky one moment, fruity and woody the next.
It’s also a proper “slow down” whisky. The aromas alone do half the work, and every sip feels like another chapter, from sea-salt smoke to dried fruit to dark spice. If you’re the kind of drinker who loves picking out details, this bottle has a lot to say.
Even better, it still tastes unmistakably like where it’s from. Islay isn’t a marketing word here, it’s the whole mood, stormy shoreline, peat smoke in the air, and that weirdly addictive medicinal edge Laphroaig fans chase.
Fun Fact: Laphroaig is one of the few Scotch distilleries with its own Royal Warrant, it was officially appointed to supply whisky to King Charles III (back when he was Prince of Wales).
