Torres Gran Coronas Reserva 75cl

AED 74.00

Full-bodied Spanish red made for steak nights and loud conversations. Torres Gran Coronas Reserva (Spain) is Cabernet Sauvignon-led with Tempranillo in the mix, so you get dark cassis fruit, a little cedar-spice swagger, and tannins that actually show up. If your go-to is a bold Rioja but you want something a touch more Cab-like, this is your move!

Description

Big red energy, zero overthinking required. Torres Gran Coronas Reserva is a dry, full-bodied Spanish red blend led by Cabernet Sauvignon with Tempranillo backing it up, which basically means you get structure, dark fruit, and that satisfying “yep, that’s real wine” grip.

If you’ve ever bought a random Spanish red and hoped it would stand up to dinner (then it didn’t), this is the fix. The Cabernet brings cassis and firm tannins, Tempranillo adds a juicier cherry-plum core, and the whole thing lands in that sweet spot where it feels special but still easy to drink.

  • Appearance: Deep ruby with a darker, inky edge in the glass.
  • Nose: Blackcurrant (cassis) up front, then black cherry, dried herbs, and a hint of cedar-like spice.
  • Palate: Dry, dark-fruited, and confidently tannic, with a savoury streak that keeps it from feeling jammy.
  • Body: Full-bodied, the kind that holds its own when food shows up.
  • Finish: Long and slightly spicy, with that Cabernet-style grip lingering on the sides of your tongue.

Food pairing: Pour it with grilled ribeye, rosemary roast lamb, or a smoky beef burger with aged cheddar (it loves char and fat).

This is also a killer “bring it to a braai” bottle, because it won’t get bullied by flame, spice, or big flavours. Give it 10 minutes in the glass before you go in, it opens up fast and the fruit gets louder.

If your comfort zone is Rioja Crianza/Reserva, this is a fun step sideways into something more Cabernet-driven. And if you’re usually a Cabernet Sauvignon drinker, this is your way into Spain without giving up the bold structure you like.

Torres is one of Spain’s most influential wine families, and they’ve been shaping modern Spanish wine for generations, which is why this bottle feels so dialled-in instead of random.

Fun Fact: The Torres family has been making wine since the 1800s, and they’re widely credited with helping put Spanish wine on the global fine-wine map.
