Description

Ripe, crowd-pleasing, and way more interesting than “whatever red’s open.” 19 Crimes Red Blend is an Australian full-bodied red wine built for easy pouring and instant likeability, without tasting boring.

This is a red blend, so you get layers instead of one-note fruit. Think dark berries up front, a little oak-driven sweetness (vanilla, toast), and enough tannin to stand up to real food. It’s the bottle you bring when you don’t know everyone’s taste, but you still want to look like you tried.

  • Appearance: Deep ruby, heading toward purple at the rim.
  • Nose: Blackberry jam, plum, a little cocoa, and vanilla with a faint smoky edge.
  • Palate: Dark fruit first, then baking spice and toasted oak, with soft, grippy tannins that keep it feeling “red wine serious” without drying you out.
  • Body: Medium to full-bodied.
  • Finish: Lingering berry and spice, with a touch of chocolatey warmth.

Food pairing: Put this next to pepperoni pizza, a smash burger with caramelized onions, or BBQ chicken wings (bonus points for a sticky glaze).

Not sure where it sits in your red wine world? If you usually grab Shiraz for that bold, jammy vibe, this is a fun next step because the blend adds extra shape and spice. If Cabernet is your go-to, you’ll like the dark-fruit backbone, but with a friendlier, less “boardroom” attitude.

Serve it slightly cool (not fridge-cold), and it suddenly feels tighter and fresher. Let it warm in the glass and it gets richer and rounder. Basically, it adapts to your night.

It also plays well with a casual cheese board. Go for aged cheddar, smoked gouda, or anything with a bit of salt and bite. The fruit and oak notes love that combo.

Fun Fact: The 19 Crimes name is a nod to British convicts who were transported to Australia, and the brand leans hard into that rebellious, rule-breaking backstory.
