Nederburg Duet Shiraz Pinotage 75cl
AED 39.00
Big, dark-fruit energy with a smoky little wink, this South African red blend is the kind of bottle that makes pizza night feel like a plan. Shiraz brings the juicy blackberry and peppery edge, Pinotage adds that distinctly SA twist (think ripe plum and a touch of roastiness). Dry, bold, and easy to get obsessed with, it’s a solid pick when you want flavour that shows up and stays interesting.

This is the red you grab when you want bold flavour without turning dinner into homework. Nederburg’s Duet blends Shiraz and Pinotage to give you dark fruit, spice, and that unmistakable South African personality in one seriously drinkable bottle.
- Appearance: Deep ruby with purple edges, looks like it means business in the glass.
- Nose: Blackberry and plum up front, then cracked black pepper, a little smoke, and a faint cocoa vibe.
- Taste: Ripe dark berries and juicy plum, followed by warm spice and a lightly toasty note. Dry, with grippy tannins that make food taste better.
- Body: Medium to full-bodied, it has weight, but it won’t feel heavy or sleepy.
- Finish: Peppery and dark-fruited, with a lingering roasted edge that keeps you coming back for another sip.
Why this blend works so well is the push and pull. Shiraz brings the punch, fruit, and spice. Pinotage brings the local swagger, adding depth and a slightly smoky, savoury streak that makes the whole thing feel more layered than your average weeknight red.
It’s also a sneaky-good “table wine” in the best way. Got grilled meat, burgers, lamb chops, or anything with char, tomato, or spice? This bottle doesn’t get lost, it plays along and makes the food taste louder.
If you’re building your South African red wine favourites list, this is an easy add. It’s friendly enough to pour for a group, but interesting enough that you’ll catch yourself analysing the last sip.
Fun Fact: Nederburg is one of South Africa’s most decorated wineries, and the name “Nederburg” comes from the original farm where the cellar started back in the 1700s.
